When you install and use Auto Gift, we collect only the information necessary to provide the app's functionality. This includes:
- Your Shopify store domain and basic shop information
- App configuration data you enter, such as gift rules, trigger products, and selected gift products
- Shopify access tokens required to authenticate API requests on your behalf
- Theme settings data, used solely to check whether the app embed is enabled in your active theme
We do not collect any personal data from your customers. The app operates entirely through Shopify's APIs and does not have its own customer-facing data collection.
How We Use Information
Information collected is used exclusively to operate and improve Auto Gift. Specifically:
- To authenticate your store and make authorised API calls to Shopify on your behalf
- To store and retrieve your gift rules and popup notification settings
- To create and manage automatic discount codes in your Shopify store
- To check your theme configuration and display relevant setup guidance in the app admin
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app.
Data Storage & Security
App data including session tokens and gift rule configurations is stored in a secured database hosted on Fly.io infrastructure in the United Kingdom. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit using industry-standard TLS.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. Access to stored data is restricted to systems required for app operation.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as the app is installed on your store. When you uninstall Auto Gift, your session data is automatically deleted via Shopify's uninstall webhook.
If you would like your data deleted before uninstalling, please contact us and we will action the request within 30 days.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the data we hold about your store. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below.
We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
Shopify's Role
Auto Gift is built on the Shopify platform. Shopify independently collects and processes certain data as part of providing their platform services. For information on how Shopify handles data, please refer to Shopify's Privacy Policy.
